Fashionably, Redundantly, Photogenic

As I post, I realize the same shirt is in 3 out of like 6 pictures I have on here, twice on me, and once on my Barbie Birthday girl Jean. If you saw my closet, you'd realize how insane this is. The funny thing is, although I have enough clothes to wear a different outfit every day (and typically do not repeat outfits).. when I do like an outfit, I end up repeating it on days when serious pictures are taken. Example 1 would be the pretty white and gray flowy shirt you've seen multiple times already. I've only worn that silky number twice! This is the other outfit that I've been repeatedly photographed in, yet only wore a few times:

The best part is that it was sent out for my company holiday card. Talk about getting caught repeating an outfit! Aren't we fun though??

Bakerella, Eat Your Heart Out

In a previous post I talked about how I recently discovered Bakerella's amazing talents, and was inspired to start baking more creatively again! It was my friend Nick's birthday, and the perfect opportunity to show off my 'skillz' (and try to copy Bakerella.. imitation is the best form of flattery, right??)

Funfetti Cake Balls! So cute. They tasted yummy too! Next time I'm going to experiment with making some kind of salty-sweet dark chocolate cake balls, maybe even cake pops! Valentine's Day is just around the corner!

Affordable-Chic Undies!

My most recent obsession is with Aerie undies! Definitely American Eagle's greatest venture, Aerie undies don't disappoint. Just look at these fancy panties!

Très cutèe!! (tray que-tay) Side bar, that phrase was taken from Teen Girl Squad, my most favorite internet cartoon in the world. Check it out, yo.

Edible Art, My Favorite Kind

I come from a family of seriously talented artists, and I've spent a good portion of my life trying to find what kind of art I was talented at. My grandma is most famous for her painting and fashion sense, my mother, previously for her clay and batik, currently for her jewelry making and crafting (there's not much my mother can't make..) Two years ago, I found my talents. I make crazy cakes and can decoupage the crap out of anything.

My most prized cakes are these:

I made this Barbie cake for my friend Jean for her birthday. I used a princess Barbie because we call Jean 'Queen Jean' and cut the Barbie's hair so it looked similar to hers. I layered a few cakes, and cut them to look like a dress skirt, then piped on frosting and sprayed it with a few different edible sprays I found. SO CUTE, right??

This next cake I made for my friend Tony, who is an avid skiier.

Look at the size of that cake! I must have made 6 carrot cakes (Tony's fav), and stacked them up on top of each other. Then I cut down some of the edges until I thought it resembled a ski mountain. I covered it in frosting, used some blue spray, covered 2 sugar cones in green frosting for trees, sprinkled some coconut for snow at the bottom, and the pièce de résistance, I found a picture of a skiier in an orange jacket (Tony's fav color), then photoshopped Tony's face on, printed, and laminated it, and stuck it in the top of the cake. Definitely my best work to date. I've been getting some inspiration lately from Bakerella, so hopefully you'll be seeing some fun baked goods shortly! What are your artistic talents? Everyone is good at something.

Meet Flash

To begin, you should probably meet my alter-ego, Flash. She's the crazy girl in me that comes out after a few glasses of wine. This girl takes on the world with no worries, no inhibitions, and no holding back. My 'id,' if you will. I'm no Sybil though, just a serious wino.
